St. Sebastian is made in a South Tyrolean wood carving. It is available in four different sizes and three different finishes. You can choose between natural, three-color stained or painted wood. The artists paint the wooden figure by hand. The wood used for production is sycamore.
St. Sebastian was a Roman soldier and is venerated as a martyr and saint in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. In the Catholic Church, his feast day is January 20.
St. Sebastian is invoked against the plague and other epidemics. He is the patron saint of fountains. In addition, he is also listed as the patron saint of the dying as well as of various craft professions. Sebastian is also one of the three patron saints of the city of Rome.
The attributes that belong to St. Sebastian are the arrows that pierce his body. In this illustration you can see three arrows. One is in his arm, the other in his stomach and the third in his stomach. Blood comes out of the wounds. Sebastian is tied to a tree. He wears only an apron around his loins. His head is bent downwards.
