St. Paul is made in a South Tyrolean wood carving. It is made of lime wood. You can choose between two different sizes and designs. The finishes are natural and painted wood. The wooden figure is painted by hand by our artists. In doing so, they use oil paints. The wooden figure is equipped with details, here, for example, you can see this by the beard.
Paul of Tarsus is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. He was one of the first Christian theologians in the New Testament and a successful missionary of early Christianity. Paul, as an educated Jew and law-abiding Pharisee with Roman citizenship, persecuted the followers of Jesus Christ. But Paul never met Jesus. After his conversion, he saw himself as an apostle of the gospel called by God.
He proclaimed the resurrection of Christ especially to the Gentiles. To do this, he traveled a lot, especially to the Mediterranean, where he founded some Christian communities.
Pauline theology is characterized above all by the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ with constant reference to the promise of the Tanakh. Paul found, through the fulfillment of the Torah by Jesus, the justification of man and his reconciliation with God by grace.
St. Paul is venerated in the Catholic Church on June 29.
There are no contemporary portraits or portraits of Paul, so an iconography based on ancient forms of representation was developed for a philosopher. He is depicted with an elongated-narrow face, bald forehead with dark hair and a divided or highlighted beard. In this depiction, Paul has a sword in his hand. The sword is considered a symbol of martyrdom.
